Tishomingo rallies back to beat Northeast

Tishomingo took advantage of Northeast Lauderdale mistakes on Saturday to take the 4A North State softball semifinals and move into the North State Championship on Tuesday
After losing the first game 17-9, the visiting Lady Braves beat Northeast 10-9 and 18-15 to take the best-of-three series. The Lady Trojans finish the year at 23-15.
In the deciding game, Tishomingo battled back to overcome an eight-run Northeast first inning to take the victory.
The Lady Braves scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but Northeast came back to score eight runs to take the lead.
Jana Olczak and Shelley Odom singled to start the game and Amber Gray singled in Olczak. Capri Norris singled and Jayme Gardner singled in a run.
Kara Hull had an RBI single and Eliza Gavin had a two-run double. An error allowed Northeast to score another run and Meagan Winborn made the score 7-4 with a single. Olczak finished off the scoring with a double.
Northeast stretched the lead to 10-4 in the second on an RBI triple by Jennifer Bristow and a sacrifice fly by Gardner.
The Lady Braves scored four runs in the third inning to cut into the lead and scored three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. C.J. Cole and Caroline Walker had an RBI double and Lucinda Anglin had an RBI single.
Northeast tied the game with a run in the fourth inning on a single by Gardner, but Tishomingo scored three runs in the fifth inning and a run in the top of the sixth to make the score 16-11.
Northeast battled back for four runs, but Tishomingo added three runs in the seventh to secure the victory.

Northeast answered a big inning by Tishomingo County to take a big 17-9 win in the opening game of the series.
After the Lady Braves tied the game at eight with six runs in the fifth inning, the Lady Trojans answered with two runs in the fifth and seven runs in the sixth to secure the win.
In the fifth, Gardner singled to start the inning and Kara Hull ripped a shot that got past the outfielder to bring Gardner in. Hull scored on a sacrifice fly by Kim Crawford.
In the sixth inning, Olczak doubled and Odom reached on an error. Gray walked to load the bases and an error allowed Olczak to score.
Bristow singled in a run to make the score 12-8 and another error allowed Northeast to stretch the lead. Hull followed with a shot down the line to bring in three runs. Gardner's sacrifice fly helped the Lady Trojans take a 17-8 lead.
The Lady Braves added a run in the top of the seventh, but Northeast hung on to take the 17-9 lead.

The Lady Braves scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Amy Lowry to take a 10-9 win and stay alive in the series.
The two teams battled early and traded runs in the first two innings.
The Lady Trojans took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning on a single by Gavin, but Tishomingo County exploded for five runs in the fourth to take the lead.
Brittney Bell had an RBI single and Emily Barnes had a three-run triple in the inning for the Lady Braves.
Northeast kept battling and answered with a huge top of the fifth. Northeast scored five runs in the inning to take back the lead.
Olczak singled and Odom reached on an error. After a flyout by Gray moved the runners over, Norris came through with a two-run single. Bristow followed with a single and Gardner brought in a run on a single to make the score 7-6.
Hull followed with a single to bring in two Northeast runs and give the Lady Trojans an 8-7 lead.
The Lady Braves took back the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning on a double by Lowry and a ground out by Cole.
Northeast battled back with a run in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game at nine.
Savannah Hall reached base and scored on a sacrifice fly by Gray to tie the game.
Neither team was able to score until the bottom of the seventh inning. Addy Brown walked for the Lady Braves and Samantha Mann singled and moved to second on the throw to give Tishomingo runners at second and third.
After an intentional walk, Lowry brought in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly to make the final score 10-9.
