NEWTON Services for Wilton Wilkins "Bill" Bounds will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Cain officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bounds, 75, of Newton, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home in Meridian. He was retired from GM&O and ICG Railroad and a member of Newton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Walker Bounds; his daughter, Karen Hamilton and her husband, Fred, of Newton; a son, Billy "Bo" Bounds and his wife, Kaki, of Laurel; sisters, Louise Lucas and Bet Thames, both of Newton; brothers, Ross Bounds, Rodney Bounds and Leon Bounds, all of Newton, and Giles Bounds of Grenada; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Georgia Wilkins Bounds; two sisters, Lorraine Byrd and Maurise Brand.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Bounds, Van Lucas, Jeff Bounds, Jack Thames, Bubba Brand and Johnny Coghlan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Weems, Johnny Floyd Weems and Tom Prince.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Lena Stone Taylor will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jason Byrd officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Taylor, 93, formerly of Meridian, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Lakeland Nursing Home in Jackson. She was born Oct. 24, 1909, to the late John Ellis and Sallie Hagwood Stone in Clarke County. She was a long time resident of Meridian and a member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Harold W. Taylor Jr. and his wife, Frances Buckley Taylor, of Herftord, N.C.; daughters, Kate Taylor Heran of Jackson and Maxine Taylor Hughes and her husband, Albert, of Boone, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Walter Taylor Sr. of Meridian; sisters, Myrtie Moffett and Brunnie Stone; brothers, William Lamar Stone and Percy Leroy Stone.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Structural detailer
Services for James L. Butts will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Hal Bates and Jason Cross officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
Mr. Butts, 63, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Ates Butts of Meridian; a son, Steve Butts and his wife, Susan, of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Cathy Parker and her husband, Glenn, of Collinsville; and a granddaughter, Haley Nicole Parker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Landrum.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Slay, Greg Slay, Phillip Slay, Rick Snowden, Tim Snowden and Jim Ethridge.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Connie Isaac Bacon will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Pearl River Community Baptist Church in Choctaw with the Revs. Charles Battist, Robert Tubby and Calvin Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Isaac Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bacon, 76, of Choctaw, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in her home. She was a member of Pearl River Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her death.
She left Mississippi in 1956 for a job at the Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma and lived there for 15 years, where she was in charge of dental technology. She then transferred to dental services at Carter Seminary in Ardmore, Okla.
In 1968, she and her husband, transferred to Mississippi with the Mississippi Choctaws. She served as a dental assistant until her retirement in May 1988.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Bacon of Choctaw; a daughter, Tressie Hembree Sr. of Jacksboro, Tenn.; a son, W.K. Bacon Sr. of Choctaw; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lois Isaac.
Pallbearers will be Sonny York, Marlin York, Aaron York, Rory Willis, Mark Willis, Junior Willis, Delmore Isaac and Brent Hembree.
Graveside services for Gary L. Frazier will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Frazier Grove Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Frazier officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Frazier, 54, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Frazier of Meridian; his mother, Claudine Frazier of Meridian; daughters, Tammy Robinson and her husband, Billy Robinson Jr., and Rene Thomas; sons, George Garrett and his wife, Frankie, Jerry Betterton and his wife, Janell, all of Meridian, and Barry Betterton of New Albany; granddaughters, Savannah Garrett of Meridian, Robin Bosch of El Paso, Texas, Nikki Betterton of New Albany and Katina Snowden of York, Ala.; grandsons, Dakota Robinson, Colt Robinson, Shane Snowden, Cameron Bowman and Cory Null, all of Meridian, and Jerry Betterton Jr. of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otis L. Frazier.
Pallbearers will be David Bloebaum, Joe Bowman, Jerry Betterton, Danny Culpepper, Alan Byrd and Robert Raymond.
Honorary pallbearers will be Colt T. Robinson and Dakota Robinson.
Visitation will be Tuesday 9 a.m.-10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Polk, 68, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Choctaw Health Center.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Earl Willis; daughters, Nancy York of Philadelphia, Patsy Shoemake and Cheryl Ingale, both of Conehatta, Peggy Jolly of Jackson, Bertha Gingerich and Ester Betts, both of Springfield, Mo.; sons, Alvin Jefferson and Fieldon Jefferson, both of Philadelphia, Fred Thomas and David Sharp, both of Heidelberg; a sister, Geneva Chapman of Philadelphia; brothers, Baxter Jefferson, Morris Jefferson and Clendon Jefferson, all of Philadelphia; 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
