UNION Services for Exie Richardson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy McDill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Richardson, 91, of Newton, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Newton Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her sister, Jean James and her husband, Albert, of Union; sisters-in-law, Mary Holyfield of Little Rock and Faye Holyfield of Lucedale; four nieces and eight nephews; and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Wilburn "Ray" Smith will be held today at 3 p.m. at Vardaman Baptist Church in Kemper County with the Revs. Jessie Napp and Chris Smith officiating. Burial will be in Tucker Cemetery in Kemper County. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 52, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Smith; daughters, Angel Savell and Allison "Shelly" Curtis, all of Philadelphia; one grandson; his mother, Helen Smith and a brother, Robert Smith, both of DeKalb; sisters, Tawanna Smith of DeKalb and Janice Gore of Union.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilburn H. Smith.

Services for Alfred J. Smith Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Chunky Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 78, of Chunky, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a retired utility company construction engineer and a member of Chunky Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II on the USS Martin.
Survivors include his daughters, Nava Elizabeth Rath and her husband, Arthur, of Monument, Colo., Patricia Lynn Barber and her husband, Tim, of Chunky, Debra Sue Simpson and her husband, Clint, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Cynthia Lorene Gutowski and her husband, Steve, of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Courtney Anne Horton and her husband, Johnny, of Cuba, Ala.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Brian Rath, Melissa Cuvala Oldenberg, Michelangelo Muscolino, Brady Lynn Gutowski, Roger Anthony Muscolino, Lucas Daniel Gutowski, Andrew Charles Rath, John Bradley Cuvala and Tina Marie Muscolino; and a great-grandson, Landen Parker Oldenberg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Adair Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Rath, Roger Muscolino, Andrew Rath, Lucas Gutowski, John Cuvala and Kevin Brudzinski.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michel Muscolino, Ralph Kastla, Ralph Johnson, Nolan Clark, Sidney Steverson, James Johnston and Mack Idom.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Retired self-employed sawmill business worker
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Robert Walter Tyson will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Braddock officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tyson, 77, of Butler, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Tyson, Ronnie Tyson, Ray Tyson, Randall Tyson and Rodney Tyson, all of Butler; daughters, Geraldine Welch of Pensacola, Fla., and Bobbie Knight of Thomasville, Ala.; brothers, Milton Tyson and Paul Tyson, and a sister, Edna Lucas, all of Toxey, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
