Services for Ella Jane Grace will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brownridge Baptist Church in DeKalb with the Rev. Weldon Short officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Blackwater Cemetery. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Grace, 73, of Daleville, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her sons, Marvin Grace, Ronnie Grace and Johnny C. Grace, all of Daleville, and Shawn Grace and his wife, Stephanie, of Meridian; brothers, T.C. Grace and his wife, Emma, of Savoy, John Grace and his wife, Maybelle, of Meridian and Willie West of DeKalb; a sister, Zula Hudson of Meridian; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Roberta Grace.
Visitation will be today 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Services for LaKendrick DeShaun Alexander will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Fifth Street Baptist Church with the Revs. W.C. Brown and Timothy Jones officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Yantley, Ala. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Alexander, 21, of Richmond, Texas, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in Galveston, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Stephanie Johnson; a sister, Jessica Daniels, brothers, Deondre Johnson and Deonte Johnson, and his step-father, James Johnson, all of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Jones; and his grandmother, Jessie Alexander.
Visitation will be Thursday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired utility company station engineer
Services for Alfred J. Smith Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Chunky Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 78, of Chunky, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Chunky Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his daughters, Neva Elizabeth Rath and her husband, Arthur, of Monument, Colo., Patricia Lynn Barber and her husband, Tim, of Chunky, Debra Sue Simpson and her husband, Clint, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Cynthia Lorene Gutowski and her husband, Steve, of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Courtney Anne Horton and her husband, Johnny, of Cuba, Ala.; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Brian Rath, Melissa Cuvala Oldenberg, Michelangelo Muscolino, Brady Lynn Gutowski, Roger Anthony Muscolino, Lucas Daniel Gutowski, Andrew Charles Rath, John Bradley Cuvala and Tina Marie Muscolino; and one great-grandson, Landen Parker Oldenberg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Elizabeth Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Rath, Roger Muscolino, Andrew Rath, Lucas Gutowski, John Cuvala and Kevin Brudzinski.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Retired logging employee
DEKALB Services for Marquis "Tab" Johnson will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Salem Baptist Church in Preston with the Rev. Daryl Rush officiating. Burial will be in Chamberlin Cemetery in Preston. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, 81, of DeKalb, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane Grady and her husband, John; brothers, Beauford T. Johnson and his wife, Johnnie, and Bernard Johnson Sr., all of Preston; one grandson, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Visitation will be Thursday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday 1 p.m.-2 p.m. at the church.
