Erica Nicole Scrimpshire and Ethan Daniel Smith were married Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at 3 p.m. at The Charleston Chapel on Ashley Avenue in downtown Charleston, S.C.
Parents of the couple are Phillip Scrimpshire and Norma Skidmore of Pachuta, and Danny and Elaine Smith of Gilbertown, Ala.
The bride is the granddaughter of Bill Mercer of Souenlovie, Norma Mercer of Riverside, Calif., and the late Robert and Lillian Scrimpshire of Pachuta.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Jacob and Neely Smith of Meridian; Susie Stafford of Gilbertown and the late John Stafford.
The bride wore a long sleeve white gown handmade by her mother and carried a single white rose.
On the eve of the wedding, the couple met with their families for dinner at Hyman's Seafood on Meeting Street in Charleston.
After spending a week in The Isle of Palms, S.C., the couple resides in Pachuta.
There will be a reception held in the couple's honor at the home of James and Norma Skidmore, 745 West Main St. in Pachuta on Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. Friends and family are invited.
