Cecil Chandler Germany
Retired
Services for Cecil Chandler Germany will be held today at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Bob Simmons, Dr. Raymon Leake, Dr. Jason Bird and David Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Germany, 84, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a founding partner of WTOK-TV, and retired from Southern Television Corp.
He was a deacon at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and was formerly active in Meridian Little Theatre.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Bartlett Germany of Meridian; a son, Barry Germany of Meridian; and a sister, Mrs. William Johnson of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Germany.
Memorials may be made to the organ or music fund at First Baptist Church of Meridian or the music fund at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Anders, Mike Covert, George Hill, Jonathan Hill, Dr. John McEachin, Jerry Manning, Philip Price and Joe Saxon.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church and the McDonald's Coffee Club.
Visitation will be today 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mildred S. Christopher
Retired
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Mildred S. Christopher will be held today at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Butler with the Rev. Garry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Butler City Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Christopher, 73, of Butler, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired business owner and operator.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Kate Bexley of Land O'Lakes, Fla.; sons, Robert O. Christopher of Foley, Ala., and William R. Christopher of Butler; a sister, Opal S. Smith of Peachtree City, Ga.; and eight grandchildren.
Ann Watts Crowe
Services for Ann Watts Crowe will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the mausoleum at Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Crowe, 62, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Meridian Swim Association and the Episcopal Church of the Mediator. She received the Phillips 66 Award for Service with the Meridian Swim Association and Mississippi Swimming USA.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Harold N. "Sonny" Crowe of Meridian; a daughter, Tina Jordan of Meridian; a step-daughter, Sarah Gazzara of West Berlin, N.J.; a step-son, Spike Watts of Meridian; grandsons, Michael and Jacob Gray, both of Meridian; step-grandchildren, Bryan and Jason Watts of Meridian; a brother, Walter May of Delton, Fla.; a nephew, Joe Dean of Columbia, Tenn.; nieces, Teresa Scarborough of Meridian and Tonya Davis of Greenville, S.C.; great-nieces, Hannah Davis, Hayley Scarborough and Brenda Worden; and a great-nephew, Hagen Scarborough.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. Cliff Watts; her parents, Ilaree May and B.P. May; a sister, Evelyn May Dean; a nephew, Matt Dean; and a step-son, Chuck Watts.
Memorials may be made to Meridian Swim Association, P.O. Box 3972, Meridian, MS 39303.
Pallbearers will be Robert Luke, Buddy Barnard, Aubert Kimbrell, Chris Crowe, Scott Davis and Rodney Scarborough.
Kenneth L. Templeton
Retired Naval officer
Graveside services for retired Lt. Cmdr. Kenneth L. Templeton will be held today at 1 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Neal officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Templeton, 74, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at his home. He was a retired aviator who served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie Templeton of Meridian; a son, Ken L. Templeton Jr., and his wife, Deborah, of Brandon; two grandchildren, Leigh Ann Templeton, John Francis, of Brandon; and seven sisters, Kathleen Roper, Elizabeth Bruggemeyer and her husband, Roger, Rosalie Grande and her husband, Norman, Trudy Mielke and her husband, Paul, Josie Green, Theresa Hubin and her husband, Tom, and Julie Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Francis and Anne Knoepker Templeton; and three brothers, Robert Joseph, Anthony John, and Thomas Henry.
Pallbearers will be members of Phi Kappa Delta.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to noon at the
funeral home.
