    JOHNNYE SIMS SCOTT

    YORK, Ala. Services for Johnnye Sims Scott will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Livingston First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary J. McAbee officiating. Burial will be in Brewersville Cemetery. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Scott, 90, of Livingston, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home.
    Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Hodgkins of Birmingham; three sisters, Evelyn Larkin of Coatopa, Cloy Reid of Montgomery and Marie Floyd of Sylacauga; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, William Emory Scott Sr. and a son, William Emory Scott Jr.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Livingston First Baptist Church, P.O. Drawer 2150, Livingston, AL 35470.
    JEFF ROBERSON
    Services for Jeff Roberson will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Water Valley Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Gary McGinnis, Maxine Turner and Edward Shoemake officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Roberson, 90, of Meridian, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, in his home. He was a member of Water Valley Pentecostal Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Roberson; two daughters, Earline Walker and Marie Reeves; a son Bobby Roberson; three brothers, Clyde Roberson, Jamie Roberson and Horace Roberson; two sisters, Daisy McKinnon and Hazel Smith; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be Kevin Reeves, Jeffery Walker, Terry Roberson, Larry Roberson, Thomas Roberson and Ricky Mars.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
    ALTON J. ALAWINE
    Retired, Internal Revenue Service
    Services for Alton J. Alawine will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carl Stephens and John Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery.
    Mr. Alawine, 85, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Specialty Hospital of Meridian. A Methodist, he was a graduate of George Washington University. He held a Doctor of Law degree and was retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 35 years.
    Survivors include his wife, Margie Alawine of Meridian; a son, David Alawine of Spotsylvania, Va.; a step son, Kenneth Lee and his wife, Josie, of Vicksburg; two daughters, Deborah Hahn of Richmond, Va., and Sheila Hutchens of Alexandria, Va.; a step daughter, Diane Forbes and her husband, Frank, of Sherwood, Ark.; 25 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Will Alawine and his wife, Barbara, of Vernon, Ala.; two sisters, Kate Alawine and Ellen Stephens and her husband, the Rev. Carl Stephens all of Collinsville; and former step children, Blaine Toney of Spotsylvania, Terry Toney of Clear Creek, W.V., and Donna Smith of Dale City, Va.
    He was preceded in death by three sons, Russell Alawine, Alton Alawine Jr., and an infant son; and a brother, J.T. Alawine.
    Pallbearers will be Malcolm Threatt, Billy Alawine, Max Alawine, David Sessums, Ronnie Alawine and Larry Joyner.
    Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    RUBYE LOUISE KITCHENS
    Retired textile laborer
    QUITMAN Services for Rubye Louise Kitchens will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Neal officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
    Mrs. Kitchens, 85, of Quitman, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska.
    Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Robinson and her husband, Charles, of Fairbanks; a brother, Russell Johnston of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Bertha Nicholson of Stonewall; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kitchens; and a daughter, Rubye Belle Kitchens.
    Visitation will be held today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ESTELLE DUBOSE
    Retired educator
    Services for Estelle DuBose will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church with the Rev. Daryl Fluker officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. DuBose, 74, of Meridian, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at her home.
    Survivors include her husband, Walter F. DuBose of Meridian; four daughters, Dolores Willis, Norma Robertson and Tracy Reives, all of Meridian and Paula DuBois of Bermuda; two sons, Woodrow Johnson of Meridian and Keith DuBois of Bermuda; two sisters, Eloise Slaughter of Selma, Ala., and Ersadean Griffin of Clarksville, Tenn.; a brother, Georgio Wilson of Selma; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Visitation will be held Saturday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    VERA ELIZABETH EMERSON
    Vera Elizabeth "Betty" Emerson died Monday, April 9, 2002, in Meridian. Mrs. Emerson was a native of Meridian and a graduate of Meridian High School.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Emerson; her parents, John J. and Vera Beddingfield; and a sister, Gayle Sims.
    She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Judi Emerson of Pass Christian; grandchildren, Dr. Noah A. Emerson and Gia DeLeo of Chicago, John Conrad Emerson and Daryl Ashlan Emerson of Pass Christian and Jonathan Harris Emerson of New Orleans; niece and nephew, Dr. J.J. Beddingfield III and Catherine Beddingfield of Jackson, Genie and Don Smoak of Covington, La., Susan Sims of Meridian and Tracey and Tim Sims of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, J.J. Beddingfield Jr. and Tommie Beddingfield of Meridian; and a dear friend and cousin, Thelma Buie of Meridian.
    The family requests memorials to be made to the Humane Society or other charity in lieu of flowers.
    She will be buried with her husband in Magnolia Cemetery.
    FRANCES EUBANKS
    Graveside services for Frances Eubanks will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery.
    Mrs. Eubanks, 90, of Tacoma, Wash., died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Georgia House Health Care Center.
    Survivors include two stepdaughters, Doris Nicholson of Pensacola, Fla., and Maxine Molina of Pace, Fla.; a step son, Pete Eubanks of Meridian; and a niece, Beulah Broadway of Meridian.

    DEKALB Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Willie Clara Lynch, 94, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home.
