Dr. and Mrs. E.M. Jones of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Marilyn Jeanette, to Allen Fitzgerald Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Davis of Meridian.
The wedding will be at the coastal home of the bride-elect's parents in Orange Beach, Ala., at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2002.
Miss Jones is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jim Bedwell, the late William M. Mitchell, Mary Sue King and the late H.C. Jones of Tiptonville, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy and received a bachelor's degree in psychology and a juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi. She has a master's in health services administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Miss Jones is the corporate responsibility officer and director of quality and resource management for St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock.
Mr. Davis is the grandson of Susie M. Swain of Meridian and the late James E. Swain; Doris M. Davis of Butte, Mo., and the late William L. Davis.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Butte High School and received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Montana. He has a juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He has a master's in health services administration and a master's in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Mr. Davis is the chief operations officer of the Arkansas Cancer Research Center and associate dean at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
A reception will follow the ceremony.
