    OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7, 2001

    Episcopal priest
    Services for the Rev. Cecil B. Jones Sr. will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Right Rev. Duncan M. Gray Jr. and the Revs. Henry Hudson, Merrill Wade and Edward O'Connor officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Rev. Jones, 93, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Riley Hospital. He was an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Mississippi since 1933. He served parishes in Rosedale, Cleveland, Tunica, Meridian, Columbus and Picayune.
    Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bourdeaux Jones of Meridian; a son, the Rev. Cecil B. Jones Jr. of Canton; a daughter, Ann Jones McDuff of Fairhope, Ala.; grandchildren, Laurin Jones Kay of Athens, Ga., Louis B. Jones of Brandon, Margaret Pipes Jones of Oxford, Mallory McDuff Rosener of North Carolina, Laurence J. McDuff of Birmingham, Ala., Wilson C. McDuff of Fairhope and Margaret McDuff Lewis of Atlanta; a sister, Ruth McDaniel of Baton Rouge, La.; and eight great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. at the church.

    Retired woodwork instructor with Allied Enterprises
    Services for James Frank Davidson will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Gross officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
    Mr. Davidson, 81, of Suqualena, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, in his home. He was a member and deacon of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Suqualena Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Graham Davidson of Suqualena; a daughter, Carole Ann Brewster of Meridian; a son, Larry Davidson and his wife, Wanda, of Suqualena; grandchildren, Louis DeWayne Jones and his wife, Jennie, of Park Forest, Ill., Angela Chris Davidson and James Dewight Jones of Meridian, Shelby Lea Brown and her husband, Bruce, of Meehan, Jennifer Fleming and her husband, Chip, of Scooba; two great-grandchildren, Chelsey Leigh Dew of Meehan and Haley Ann Jones of Park Forest; and his beloved dog, Jack.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Frank and Ella Davidson.
    Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of his Sunday school class.
    Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    UNION Services for Jerry E. Rouse will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Milling Funeral Home with the Rev. Kermit Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Rouse, 86, of Union, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years of service.
    Survivors include his wife, Martha Rouse of Union; two sons, Otto Rouse of Union and Richard Jerry Rouse of Germantown, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Paulette Rouse of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    JACK WAYNE JONES
    NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas Memorial services for Jack Wayne Jones will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Jones, 72, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in New Braunfels. He was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Suqualena, Miss. Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Marine Corps in China during World War II and was a Beaumont resident for 33 years.
    He was a graduate of Lamar University Police Academy, the U.S. Marshalls Service Training Academy in Washington D.C. and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Training School in Quantico, Va.
    Mr. Jones was a member of the first Jefferson County SWAT Team. He retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department in Beaumont in 1992. He was an enthusiastic pilot who loved flying and a Harley Davidson rider.
    Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dolores; a daughter, Myra Lairsen and her husband, Jack, of Austin; a son, Gregory Jones and his wife, Cindy, of New Braunfels; three grandchildren, Julie Doiron and her husband, Gratian, of Austin, Shawn Rossi and his wife, Tamsyn, and Kristen Jones, all of New Braunfels; two sisters, Hazel Peet of Palm Beach, Fla. and E. Lee Covington of Seguin; many nieces and nephews including, George Jones of Hilton Head, S.C., Eugene Jones of Winterville, Ga., Jerry Covington of Beaumont, Mickey Covington of New Braunfels, Debbie Arizaga of Arlington, Kerry Bates of Jackson, Miss., Gary Gibson and Trejetta Gibson of Collinsville, Miss., Peggy Covington, Pat McLelland of Meridian, Miss., Vette Wilkerson of Bailey, Miss., and his faithful canine companion, best friend and shadow, "Ziggy."
    He was preceded in death by his parents, S.K. and Viola; two brothers, Gene and Thurman Jones; and a sister, Clydie Gibson.
    The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to his many friends and family for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church Building Fund, Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, the American Cancer Society or Daughters of the King.

    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Alice M. Lowe, 72, of Meridian, who died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Floyd Brown of Meridian who died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    RUBY MAYES
    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Ruby Mayes, 82, of Newton, who died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
