    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, OCT. 26, 2001

    Retired electrician
    MOBILE, Ala. Services for James Coyt Manley were held Wednesday in the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home. Burial was in Pine Crest Cemetery.
    Mr. Manley, a native of Barrytown and longtime resident of Mobile and Meridian, died Sunday Oct. 21, 2001, in his home. Mr. Manley was a retired electrician from Brookley Air Force Base and the Mobile Housing Board. He was a lifetime member of the Guy T. Smith Masonic Lodge and the ABBA Temple Shriners.
    He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He enjoyed many hours of gardening with his friend, Perry Tolbert. Mr. Manley was a 2nd class petty officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
    Survivors include his wife, Lois Raley Manley of Mobile; a daughter, Norma Manley Powell of Mobile; sister-in-law, Jessie Raley Ross of Meridian; three grandchildren, William Powell and his wife, Claudia, Martha Henken and her husband, Chris, and James Powell and his wife, Robin, all of Mobile; six great-grandchildren, Bryan, James Coyt, Lorie, Matt and Scottie Powell, and Michelle Heken.
    AGNES H. HURDLE

    UNION Services for Agnes H. Hurdle will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Felder officiating. Burial will be in Union City Cemetery.
    Mrs. Hurdle, 83, of Meridian, formerly of Union and Taylorsville, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Beverly Broadmoor Health Care.
    Survivors include two daughters, Gail Herrington and her husband, Albert, of Meridian and Brenda Bishop of Brunswick, Ga.; a son, Noble Hurdle and his wife, Miriam, of Taylorsville; five sisters, Helen Taylor of Chunky, Bill Rowell of Meridian, Marie Allgood Schultz of Southgate, Mich., Ervine Jenkins of Newton and Sadie Brown of Greenville; three granddaughters, two grandsons, three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Roxie and Irvin Hollingsworth; her husband, Noble Hurdle Sr.; a brother, Ozroe Hollingsworth; and a sister, Mary Alice Vance.
    Visitation will be today beginning at noon at the funeral home.
    WILLIAM T. BLACKWELL

    PHILADELPHIA Services for William T. Blackwell will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. Drs. James L. Shull and Dan Howard officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
    Mr. Blackwell, 89, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Anna Frances Blackwell of Philadelphia; two daughters, Vickie Blackwell Trotter of Greenwood and Susan Lipscomb of Germantown, Tenn.; a son, Carlton McMullan of Jackson; a brother, Clark Blackwell of Long Beach; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ALMA LEE MARTIN
    Homemaker
    QUITMAN Services for Alma Lee Martin will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. John Edwards, Billy Brumfield, Arlis Nichols and Mike Soseby officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Martin, 98, of Stonewall, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, in her home. She was a lifelong member of Rolling Creek Baptist Church in which she served as a Sunday school teacher, WMU director and was an active choir member.
    Survivors include two sons, Raymond Martin and Mack Martin, both of Quitman; eight daughters, Myrtle Martin, Gay Tew, Veda Fay Lewis and Gail Pritchett, all of Stonewall, Mildred Rasberry, Ouida Chancelor and Clovis Chancelor, all of Quitman, and Joyce Waters of Wessington Spring, S.D.; 32 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
    HENRY R. NICHOLSON

    DEKALB Services for Henry R. "Sappy" Nicholson will be held Saturday at noon at New Jerusalem Church in Shuqualak with the Rev. Leroy Horne officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Aarat Church Cemetery in Scooba with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Nicholson, 49, of Scooba, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at his home.
    Survivors include his four sisters, Mattie Ivy, Ella Nicholson Taylor and her husband, Roger, all of Macon, Elsie Tucker of Alton, Ill., and Susie Nicholson of Collinsville; five brothers, Richard Nicholson of Meridian, Albert Nicholson, Jr. and his wife, Gloria, Willie C. Nicholson and Jeff Nicholson, all of East St. Louis, Ill.; Johnnie C. Nicholson of Alton; and several other nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    ELLIE WILLIFORD
    Nurses aide and homemaker
    QUITMAN Services for Ellie Williford will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. C.A. Farmer, Claude Killian and Roy Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
    Mrs. Williford, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a nurse's aide at Riley Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her children, Laura Exmae Gibson, Donna Lou DelGiudice, Diane Marie Mallard, Arvenia "Vickie" Meryl Keith, Morris Jerald Williford, Arvin Earl Williford and Joseph Harold Williford; her sister, Zelma Lawson; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Arvin Williford.
    Pallbearers will be Lanie Keith, Mark Keith, David Mallard, John Williford, Steven Williford, Derek Williford, Michael DelGiudice and Michael Gibson.
    Visitation will be at the funeral home.
    RAY ROUNDTREE

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Ray Roundtree will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel in Philadelphia. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery.
    Mr. Roundtree, 86, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
    Survivors include his wife, Mabelle Roundtree of Philadelphia; two daughters, Betty Miller of Philadelphia; and Mary Lynn Talbert of Collinsville; his son, Ronnie Roundtree of Clinton; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Herman Ray Guy, 46, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001.
