Calista Lee McLellan and James Corey Murphy were united in marriage on the occasion of the birthday of the bride's father on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001.
Special friend and minister, Dan Bailey of Bristol, Tenn., officiated at the lakeside ceremony held at Disney's Wedding Pavilion at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Parents of the couple are Mitch and Felicia McLellan of Russell and James and Barbara Murphy of Toomsuba.
The bride is the granddaughter of J.C. and Louise McAllister and Woodie and Gloria Abraham, all of Russell.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Junior Archie of Meehan, the late Bessie Kearns of Toomsuba and the late Edward and Nona Murphy of Meridian.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a sheath style gown of silk and cotton gabardine with platinum trim on the bodice and detachable chapel-length train. She carried a French style bouquet of champagne roses, white gardenia, dendrobium blooms and freesia.
Organist and guitarist for the ceremony presented a medley of Disney love songs. Renaissance costumed Major Domo served as ring bearer and announcer. Brandi Murphy, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
Following the ceremony and release of 40 white doves, a reception brunch was served at the Garden View of the Grand Floridian, where family and friends were entertained by a classical guitarist.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Kissimmee, Fla.
Following a honeymoon at Walt Disney World and in the Bahamas, the couple resides in Russell.
