The children of John and Sara Smith of Meridian hosted a 50th anniversary reception for their parents on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Meridian. The couple has five children, Johnny Smith, Sarita Rainey, Mary Skipper, Susan Carroll and Luke Smith; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
