Homefolks U.S.A.
Hi folks,
Recently an article appeared in a paper that stated how a person should live life today. Sixteen suggestions were made, and while most were very good, one of the points was to live in the present, look forward to the future, and forget about the past.
I really believe that we need to look for the good that we see now, and hope and pray the future will be bright and happy, but we cannot forget about the past. So much that happened in the past has really prepared us for the future, and we should never forget the “Greatest Generation,” the men and women of that day who sacrificed so much so that we could remain free today.
Many of our former leaders of our country left us with good advice and great laws that have made our country great.
We see so many “groups” or individuals who are now trying to change the laws that have proven to be successful through the years.
Most people in this country attend a weekly worship service, and we appreciate people who left us great examples to follow. We also see people of the present who try to convince us that things should be changed about how we worship or who we worship; this is happening by those of the “present” generation, and so many times we see where they are making some progress in various parts of the world. This should not keep us from doing what is right, and we should stand for what we know to be right and not let the silent majority take the great lead in bringing our country to destruction.
So many in the big business world try every day to eliminate the small merchants, and this is becoming a reality in our country today. So many of the big businesses fail to offer the service the small merchants built their businesses on. As we look back, we see many of the “big business” world who are now becoming real failures themselves. They have failed to treat customers as they should, and they have failed to offer the service we know is needed so much in this day and time. Many of the big businesses – such as Woolworth’s, Kmart, W.T. Grant, Ben Franklin and Toys R Us – have all gone by the wayside. Many of the big catalog stores have lost their appeal when it comes to customer service.
May we all appreciate the present, and hope and pray that the future will be great, but let’s never forget the people and the businesses that have survived. May the future be bright for all.
Till next time,
Your friend,
Bobby
Thought for the Day
No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should be, and God is in control.
