Tigers suffer first season loss

The Red Bay Tigers are used to overwhelming opponents with a power rushing attack. This time the shoe was on the other foot as the Addison Bulldogs, known for size and strength, overpowered the Tigers.
Addison racked up 431 total yards, with 394 of those yards coming on the ground. Red Bay was held to just 289 total yards in the 39-12 loss.
“I was proud of the effort our guys gave,” said Red Bay coach Michael Jackson. “Addison has a solid team, and we knew how well they played at home. They were able to control the ball and the clock with their running game. They were able to make us one-dimensional by stopping our run game. We made some good plays in the passing game, but on this night, they got the best of us.”
Red Bay struck first midway through the first quarter on a four-yard touchdown run by Kolby Bragwell to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead with 7:54 to go, but Addison went on to score 20 unanswered points.
Red Bay cut the Bulldogs’ lead to 20-12 with 7:27 to go in the third quarter when Bragwell connected with Jalen Vinson for 60-yard touchdown pass.
Addison, however, would close out the game with 19 more unanswered points – a 72-yard run late in the third quarter, a two-yard touchdown run and an 11-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to close out the game.
Bragwell completed 12 of 22 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown and an interception. Vinson had six catches for 130 yards and a touchdown.
The Tigers will travel just across the state line to face rival Belmont Friday night.
