Salon opens in Russellville

A new spa is open for business in Russellville.

Sept. 24 The Beauty Parlour Salon and Spa had an official grand opening in Russellville. The business can be found on Highway 43 next to Cricket Wireless. Joanne B. Waldon is the owner and manager.

Waldon is a licensed cosmetologist and aesthetician and is a Franklin County native. She said her long history with cosmetology includes previously managing a beauty supply store and a salon. Waldon said she was also an instructor at the Calhoun Cosmetology Center and later worked with Dunagan, Yates and Allison at the Huntsville Plastic Surgery Skin Health and Laser Department.

“I’m excited to be back home and doing what I love,” she said.

Kimberly Prince is the salon’s resident massage therapist. She became a certified licensed massage therapist in 2015 after many years of raising a family and running two small businesses. Prince is also certified in The Guide to the Twelve Meridians, which she said focuses on the energy flow through the body.

“I am also pursuing geriatric massage and infant and pediatric massage with a focus on its positive effects on ADD/ADHD and autism,” she said.

April Lucas became a licensed cosmetologist and barber in 2012 through NW-SCC. She said she enjoys making others look and feel better about themselves and that her true passion is color.

“There is such a wide spectrum to be played with that can make you feel like a new person,” she said.

Jessica Vincent is also a licensed cosmetologist and barber who, until recently, had her own salon in Russellville. She said she has been doing hair since 2002 and has trained a lot of women since then, as well as constantly doing extra training for herself. “I’m certified in everything that I do, including Keratin Complex,” she said.

The Beauty Parlour Salon and Spa offers a wide variety of services.

“We want it to be a place where customers feel at peace and hate to leave,” Prince said.
