Red Bay’s Bolton appointed to advisory council
Brad M. Bolton, president/CEO/senior lender of Community Spirit Bank, has recently been appointed by the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to their Community Depository Institution Advisory Council. He will serve a three-year term that advises the president of the Federal Reserve Bank on economic conditions within the district, as well as regulatory issues facing community banks.
The council consists of a 12-member board out of the six states that serve the Federal Reserve District of Atlanta. Each of the 12 members of this council is a representative of a depository institution that has assets of less than $10 billion; this gives a voice for true community banks.
“Our bank is honored that Brad has been selected to serve on both the Federal Advisory Council and ICBA Regulation Review Committee of our National Trade Association,” said Billy M. Bolton, chairman of the Board of Directors for Community Spirit Bank. “Brad truly has the best interest of community banking at heart, and on behalf of our entire Board of Directors, as well as our officers and employees, I congratulate him. We take much pride in his dedication and loyalty to our bank, as well as his concern over issues affecting community banks. He will truly represent our industry in an exemplary manner as he serves on these councils, and we thank him for these additional commitments.”
Bolton has served Community Spirit Bank for 19 years, presiding as president/CEO since January 2011. He is a member of the Alabama Bankers Association; Independent Community Bankers Association, also serving on their Regulation Review Committee; a member of Red Bay City Council; Red Bay Parks and Recreation Board; Board Member of Franklin County Community Development Commission; Member of Red Bay Lions Club; Red Bay Youth Basketball Board; and Red Bay Dixie Youth Board.
He earned his BAA at the University of West Alabama, and he is a graduate of Community Banking School at Samford University and a graduate of The Barret Graduate School of Banking.
He is married to Julie Dolan Bolton, and they have three children: Brooklyn, 17, Baily, 13, and Brady, 10. Brad is an active member of his church, where he serves as a deacon and is very involved with the youth program.
