Klassic rakes in needed funds for Marching Hundred

In the Tri-state Kudzu Klassic hosted by the RHS Marching Hundred Sept. 27, bands from Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi performed with excellence and were awarded ratings and trophies for their successes, but it was the RHS band that was the real winner.
“The profit that the band parents make off this probably makes up about two football game concessions,” said Band Director Gary McNutt. “It makes up 20 percent of their budget. I want to give a big thank you to our corporate partners, our corporate sponsors, the administrators at the school and the band parents.”
The Marching Hundred made about $25-26K from the Kudzu Klassic and everything it incorporated. This money will be put toward various needs of the band, from purchasing supplies and music to repairing instruments.
