An upcoming alumni game will reunite former RCS volleyball players and pit current seventh grade, eighth grade and junior varsity teams against each other, all with a goal of raising money for Russellville’s volleyball program.

The Alumni Game will be held Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Russellville Middle School gym. All former volleyball players are invited and encouraged to come and play, and the community is urged to come out and watch these teams.

Admission is $5, and there will be T-shirts and concessions for sale.

“It has taken off; they love it,” said Coach Charlotte Dollar, reflecting on the annual alumni game. “We’re hoping it can be a fundraiser for us.”

At one net, former players will face off against other former players.

“Some of them travel from Huntsville or Birmingham because they just want to come back and play,” said Coach Gayla Mills.

A second net will feature games between the seventh and eighth grade and the eighth grade and JV.
