RHS golf teams still teeing it up

The RHS golf team continued their season last week and move into sub-state competition this week.

Along with the Russellville baseball team competing in the playoffs, the Russellville High School golf team made it through sectionals, played at Twin Pines Country Club, and advanced to the sub-state competition.

The boys came in second with a score of 309, only one stroke behind the number one finisher, Guntersville High School.

Eli Hodges shot a 74, Joshua Seal shot a 75, Blake Bendall finished with a score of 78, and both Luke Bendall and Triston Tubb came in with a score of 82. Cameron DeArman finished with a score of 80, and qualified for sub-state as an individual. The girls also competed in sectionals at Twin Pines Country Club, coming in first place over eight teams competing for a chance at sub-state.

Leading the Lady Golden Tigers was Morgan Moon with a score of 91. Josie Willis and Ashton Moore followed closely, each finishing with a 94. Bailey Tubb finished with a 103. Carley Grace McCalpin competed as an individual and shot a 105. The girls played their sub-state match at their home course, Twin Pines, on Tuesday, May 5. The boys traveled south Monday, May 4, to Sylacauga Country Club to continue their season.
