FCT football picks contest returns

Beginning this week, readers of the Franklin County Times can once again participate in the annual  FCT Football Picks Contest.
The popular contest that allows readers to pick their winner from each high school game throughout the season will begin this weekend.
Each Saturday beginning today, the Times’ will run a full page with different high school games listed for the upcoming week. Readers can submit their picks for the upcoming games to the Times’ office by 5 p.m. Friday of the following week. The person who gets the most amount of games picked correctly each week will receive $25, which can be picked up at the Times office.
In each Wednesday’s edition of the Times beginning Aug. 29, advertisers who sponsor the picks contest will select who they think will win in that weekend’s college football action.
“This is a contest that has drawn a great deal of interest over the years,” said Times publisher Jonathan Willis.
“Each week, we receive dozens of reader submissions throughout football season. I believe it’s good for high school football fans and our readers. I really hope readers take special notice of those sponsors who make this contest possible for them.”
Entries may also be mailed to: Grid Picks c/o of The Franklin County Times, P.O. Box 1088, Russellville, AL 35653.
