Bishop wins Democratic nod in District 1
The race for District 1 commissioner in November’s general election is now set.
William Bishop, of Oak Grove, defeated Phil Campbell’s Billy Wilson Tuesday to claim the Democratic nomination.
Bishop will face Republican Chris Wallace in the general election.
Both men will be looking to fill the seat vacated by Stratt Byars, who chose to run for probate judge.
Bishop, who has worked tirelessly as a volunteer throughout the years, credits his victory to working for other people.
Bishop claimed 1,083 votes to Wilson’s 543.
