Billie Dale Proffer, Jr., 61, Tuscumbia, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Bro. David Rushlow.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Proffer; children, Cassie Proffer Young and husband, Dewayne, Kitty Castelli and husband, Chris; step-son, Kevin Mansell and wife, Jill; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Spaulding and husband, Tim, Linda Ragusa; brothers, Leroy Proffer, Neal Proffer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Dale Proffer, Sr., and Rosalie Smith Proffer; brother, Mike Proffer, and sister, Becky Wiley.
