Arrest made in weekend burglary
A Russellville man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a downtown residence Sunday evening.
Elyezel Echazabal, 20, of Russellville, was arrested on charges of second-degree theft, third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
According to Hargett, officers received a call Sunday evening from a homeowner on Washington Avenue who stated someone had broken into their residence and had stolen several items from their home.
When investigators arrived on the scene, they were able to develop Echazabal as a suspect and Hargett said he was arrested after some of the stolen property was found in his possession.
Echazabal is currently in custody at the Franklin County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
