Safari Club donates venison to relief effort

Many people are still working in Phil Campbell and other areas affected by the tornadoes on April 27, and the Brandon New Vision Methodist Church in Florence has been doing their part to help with those relief efforts.

Pastor Greg Reynolds along with minister Shawn Acoff, elder Bob Downton and his wife, Karen Downton, have spearheaded the relief efforts and they currently oversee the preparation of some 500 meals a day for cleanup crews, power company workers and others.

To help with these efforts, the Alabama Chapter of Safari Club International delivered 275 pounds of ground venison this past Thursday to the Brandon New Vision Methodist Church to be distributed to Phil Campbell.

“The Alabama Chapter of Safari Club International is proud to be a part of the relief efforts in Phil Campbell,” said James Powell, president of the Alabama Chapter of SCI.
