Summer slam set
The Russellville Middle School Fine Arts Department will present the “Third Annual Summer Slam 2011: Born to be Wild” on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the RHS Auditorium.
The show will star almost 80 RMS Fine Arts students from this past school year and upcoming students for next year under the direction of director/choreographer Patrice Smith and musical director Emily Rush.
Smith said all the music for the show will be jungle-themed such as “Born to be Wild,” “Survivor,” “Eye of the Tiger,” and “Hey, Hey, We’re the Monkees.”
“This is all fun stuff that will give our kids a chance to showcase their talents,” Smith said. “We’ll be mixing the old students with the new, upcoming students, and it’s a nice way to say goodbye to our eighth graders and to say hello to our new seventh and sixth graders.”
Tickets for the show will be $5 and can be purchased at the door.
