Relay for Life events begin across Franklin County

During the next couple of weeks various organizations throughout Franklin County will begin to hold Relay for Life events to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Every year area citizens and businesses donate time and money during these events and hopefully that will continue this year.

Almost everybody knows at least one person diagnosed with cancer and knows the impact of the disease on family, friends and co-workers.

While there are treatments for cancer, there is no cure. One of the goals of the American Cancer Society is to find a cure and Relay for Life is one way to raise money.

There are several events planned that will appeal to a wide variety of interests. In the next couple of weeks there will be a bass fishing tournament, a yard sale and a bake sale to benefit Relay for Life.

There are many more events planned for April. The Franklin County Times encourages its readers to find an event and support it to help the American Cancer Society fight one of the biggest health concerns in the United States.
