Russellville High's FBLA made a donation of money and toys to the Faith Mission Outreach's toy drive.
Matthew Mangino, director of Faith Mission, addressed the FBLA members about the mission's purpose and the importance of giving to those less fortunate.
"Twenty-five percent of the children in Franklin County are living in poverty," Mangino told the group.
The FBLA presented Mangino with $163 to support the mission, and different types of toys for their annual toy drive.
"This is one of our annual community service projects," Suzie Malone, FBLA sponsor, said.
Mangino said that people are generous during December and that support helps them through the winter months. Faith Mission's utilities skyrocket during the winter months because of the heating costs.
"Even though we only heat that one big room, our utility costs are around $1200 to $1500 per month during the winter," Mangino said.
Any support for the mission is greatly appreciated, and if it were not for the community support generosity, Faith Mission could not afford to operate.
