The Independent Community Bankers of America, the nation's voice for community banks, recently congratulated Community Spirit Bank for reaching a milestone as an ICBA member.
The bank marked in 2006 marks its 25th year as a member of the ICBA, a national organization that represents the largest constituency of community banks of all sizes and charter types in the nation.
Community Spirit Bank joins 47 other community banks in achieving the 25-year distinction.
"ICBA has been fortunate to have Community Spirit Bank as a member of the association," said Camden R. Fine, ICBA president and CEO. "Community banks are the economic engines of their local communities, financing the hopes and dreams of our nation's families, homebuyers, small business owners, college students, farmers and senior citizens."
Fine congratulated the bank on its continued dedicated service to its customers, the community and the nation.
"We've really enjoyed being a member of the ICBA," said Billy M. Bolton, president of Community Spirit Bank. "They do a great job of representing the interests of community banks and lobbying Congress on our behalf."
Community Spirit Bank, founded in Red Bay in 1908, has branches in Vina and Russellville, in addition to its home offices, which are located at 200 Fourth Ave. in Red Bay.
Community Spirit Bank, which was once known as Bank of Red Bay, is a community independent financial institution. The bank's mission statement emphasizes professionalism, consistency, superior and innovative services, and community involvement.
Community Spirit Bank and its affiliates are owned by Independent Bancshares, Inc., a one bank holding company.
The ICBA, which has its headquarters in Washington, D.C., is dedicated exclusively to representing the interests of the community banking industry.
