Cecil Batchelor is Chosen City's Young-Man-of-Year
Cecil Batchelor, 29-year-old merchant, Tuesday night received the Junior Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award as Russellville's young-man-of-the-year.
Mr. Batchelor, a native of Haleyville who has been in Russellville since 1947, is chairman of the new Industrial Committee for the Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in its organization.
County Cage Teams Prep for Tourneys
Franklin County cage teams will be busy the next three weeks participating in four tournaments, county, class A district, and class AA district.
Belgreen, Red Bay, Phil Campbell and Vina compete this week in the county tournament at Belgreen, Feb. 17-19.
Belgreen is seeded first and Red Bay second on the basis of games won.
