Our View – Hit the road and support our teams!

Now that everyone has stuffed themselves full of turkey and dressing, it's time to turn our attention back to the football field.
Both of our football teams in Franklin County who made the AHSAA state playoffs are still alive in the chase for a championship.
The Russellville Golden Tigers and the Red Bay Tigers both earned second-round wins last week to advance to this week's quarterfinals.
Russellville corralled the Parker Thundering Herd with a 46-21 victory, the Golden Tigers' 11th in a row since losing the season-opener to Deshler.
Red Bay, meanwhile, avenged season-ending defeats from the past two years with a thrilling 14-12 victory over nemesis Randolph County. The Tigers remained undefeated with their 12th straight win.
Tonight, Russellville and Red Bay continue their quest for a state crown by hitting the road for quarterfinal action.
The Golden Tigers will travel to Huntsville tonight to take on Buckhorn. The Bucks are coached by Michael Jackson, who was an assistant coach at Russellville for 10 years before taking the job at Buckhorn prior to the 2002 season.
A win for the Golden Tigers will put them in the 5A semifinals for the fifth straight season, keeping alive their hopes of returning to the Super Six in Birmingham for the third consecutive year.
Red Bay is headed east to take on Woodland, which upset top-ranked Fyffe last week. The Tigers are seeking to advance to the state semifinals for the first time under coach Dale Jeffreys.
We encourage all football fans in Franklin County to make the trip tonight to support our teams as they continue marching toward a state championship. Traveling a long way to play in an unfamiliar enviroment can be difficult, and the players and coaches from Russellville and Red Bay would certainly appreciate all the support they can get!
