Hazel Cooley, Tellie Garrison Hicks, Clois Margaret Lawler, William Franklin Tinnon, Betty Ruth Sparks Yarber

Hazel Cooley, age 84, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2004, at Russellville Hospital.
Mrs. Cooley was a native of Texas but had lived in Russellville for the past 13 years.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Mark Daniel officiating. Interment was in Walton Cemetery in Peppertown, Mississippi.
Mrs. Cooley is survived by three children, Nell Hall of Russellville, Bobby Gillis of Ft. Meade, Florida, and Donna Daniels of Russellville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the families.
Tellie Garrison Hicks, age 86, of Haleyville, passed away Friday, October 29, 2004, at Lakeland Community Hospital.
Mrs. Hicks was a member of Botush Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jackson Garrison and Sarah Ann Lovett Garrison; a daughter, Joyce Hicks; two brothers, Clarence Garrison and Julius Garrison; and two sisters, Sylvia Morgan and Mary Crane.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 31, 2004, at Botush Baptist Church with Ronald Watson officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by four children, Yvonne Hicks Pinkard of Haleyville, Anna Marie Hicks Tolbert of Haleyville, William Leon Hicks of Bear Creek, and Billy Ray Hicks of Haleyville; a sister, Frances Garrison of Jasper; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Clois Margaret Lawler, age 75, of Phil Campbell, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2004.
Mrs. Lawler was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Newton McDuffa and Ida Jackson McDuffa.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Phil Campbell with Bro. Jerry Boyles officiating. Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawler is survived by her husband, Hulon T. Lawler; two daughters, Brenda Mann and husband Dewayne, of Phil Campbell, and Janet Holley and husband Jimmy, of Phil Campbell; a sister, Opal Alexander and husband Leonard, of Phil Campbell; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Keith Morrow and his staff, the staff at Russellville Hospital, along with all our many friends and neighbors.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
William Franklin "Bill" Tinnon, age 86, of Birmingham, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004.
Mr. Tinnon was born in Goodesville, Tennessee, in 1918. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and the Aldergate Sunday School Class. He attended Vanderbilt University. Mr. Tinnon was preceded in death by his wife, Sephyr Austin Tinnon.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 31, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with G.W. Jones officiating. Interment was in Bear Creek No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charlie Jordan, Mack Garvin, Max Harper, Kenneth Harper, Troy Horsley and John Purse.
Mr. Tinnon is survived by a sister, LaVenia Tinnon Garvin of Nashville; and four nieces and five nephews.

Betty Ruth Sparks Yarber, age 69, of Florence, passed away Monday, November 1, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Yarber was a native of Franklin County and a member of College View Church of Christ. She was retired from H.D. Lee Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Clyde R. Yarber.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Cecil Cox officiating. Interment was in Taylor Cemetery.
Mrs. Yarber is survived by two sons, Joey N. Yarber of Florence, and Jay M. Yarber and wife Tina, of Hackleburg; a brother, Gertrude Nelson Sparks of Florence; a sister, Lina Mae McClung of Chicago; two grandchildren, Cody N. Yarber and Hannah E. Yarber; and several nieces and nephews.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
