Lewis McDonald watched a bald eagle for two days in a row at Dalewood recently. The feathered national symbol spent time around a boat landing area and McDonald enjoyed extensive viewing. "A golden eagle pair visited this area about 15 years ago," said McDonald.
The mature male bald eagle is about 35 inches long and weighs about 8 pounds. Their wingspan is about seven feet.
Females are usually larger, being some 42 inches long, weighing 12 pounds and with an eight foot wingspan.
