Looking for an unusual Valentine's Day gift? Then surprise your sweetheart with tickets to a concert featuring the voice of one of Country music's legendary superstars.
Loretta Lynn returns to Pearl River Resort for a special Valentine's Day show beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday on stage at the Silver Star Convention Center.
Known worldwide as the "Coal Miner's Daughter," Lynn has entertained country music fans since the 1960s.
With 55 Top 10 singles, 27 No. 1 singles and 17 No. 1 albums, she has won more accolades than any female artist in country music history. Lynn's songs of everyday life have made her a true country music idol in the hearts of people.
Lynn will perform some of her most famous songs including, "Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind)," "You're Lookin' at Country," and "Coal Miner's Daughter."
Lynn's talent isn't just limited to performing. Her autobiography, "Coal Miner's Daughter," became a No. 1 New York Times best-seller and a critically acclaimed hit movie.
Lynn has sung for royalty and has called presidents by first name. She was named one of "The 10 Most Admired Women in the world" by the Ladies Home Journal. And she was the first country entertainer to appear on the cover of Newsweek.
Her latest milestone is the release of her second autobiography, "Still Woman Enough," published by Hyperion Books. In it, she continues the story of her triumph over the odds while talking candidly about the price of fame and the stresses of stardom.
Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. They can purchase tickets by visiting the Pearl River Resort Box Office or by calling (866) 447-3275. Doors open at 7 p.m. the night of the event.
Pearl River Resort is on Highway 16 West in Choctaw. It is a development of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
