A Meridian Public School District bus was involved in an accident today at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 11th Street.
According to Capt. Tommy Miller of the Meridian Police Department, a woman driving a 1993 Toyota the wrong way on 31st Avenue apparently hit the side of the bus.
Miller said the accident is still under investigation. The name of the driver of the Toyota was not available. Miller said she was transported to Rush Foundation Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
Police were called to the scene at 7:19 a.m., Miller said.
Miller said none of the children on the bus, who were West End and Harris elementary students, appeared to be injured. Miller said the children were checked by a school nurse.
