A joint venture

Speaking of cooperation, we are encouraged by what seems to be a promising city-county cooperative venture: tearing down unsightly and dangerous old houses within the city limits. The city of Meridian and Lauderdale County have finalized a contract to share responsibilities related to removing more than 50 of these eyesores from the landscape.
It's a good step and hopefully will serve as an example of how local governmental units can work together for a common cause.
