Homemaker
Services for Mary Catherine Cunningham will be held today at 10 a.m. at State Boulevard Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cunningham, 83, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, in Brandon, Fla. She was a member of State Boulevard Baptist Church and was a senior choir member. She was the last of 10 children in her family.
Survivors include her children, Pete Cunningham and his wife, Thea, Jim Cunningham and his wife, Naty, all of Brandon, Fla. and Barbara McGuire and her husband, Dan, of Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her nephew, Mike McConnell and his wife, Janice, of Gainesville, Ga.; sister-in-law, Elaine Robinson and her husband, Paul, of Mobile, Ala., and several special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dicon D. "Dan" Cunningham.
Memorials may be made to State Boulevard Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Keith Robinson, Derek Robinson, Paul Robinson, Mark Cunningham, Michael McConnell and Jerry Harris.
Medical doctor
PHILADELPHIA Services for Dr. Jasper M. Blount Jr., will be held today at 4 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Beam officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Dr. Blount, 82, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Neshoba County General Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Blount of Philadelphia; two sons, Jerry Blount of Huntsville, Ala., and Jackie W. Morrow of Philadelphia; a foster son, Ronnie Willis; a daughter, Dr. Jo Jo Harbour of Madison; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wall of Meridian; and a brother, Benny Joe Blount of Orange Grove, Ala.
CONWAY, S.C. Services for Elizabeth "Betty" Liptak Bowman will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Rick LaBrecque officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Goldfinch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bowman, 87, of Conway, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Conway Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, Robert J. Bowman of Meridian and Larry Bowman of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Patricia Bowman of Conway; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Buck of Islan, Pa.; four sisters, Mary Mickilious of Gary, Ind., Margaret Deemer of Kent, Pa., Annie Bates of Saltsburg, Pa., and Veronica Buck of Clarksburg, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Retired educator
LISMAN, Ala. Services for Katherine Marsh Longmyer will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Yantley. Hayden &Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Longmyer, 102, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, in Church Falls, Va. She was founder of Yantley Station School. A native of Yantley, she was a resident of California and Virginia after 1953. She received her elementary education in Choctaw County and in Laurel, Miss. She earned her high school diploma in Topeka, Kan., and her graduate degree from Alabama State University.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth; two granddaughters, Katie and Kayla; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Littlepage and Bill Marsh who had been born slaves. She was baptized at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Yantley at the age of 12.
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Carolyn Mae Reed Sellers will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Silas First Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Wigham and Randy Abston officiating. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery in Silas. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sellers, 51, of Stokley Town, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Wayne County General Hospital.
Survivors include her father, G.B. Reed; her mother, Virginia Reed; her husband, Lee Roy Sellers; two sons, Eric Sellers and his wife, Robbie, and Chris Sellers; a daughter, Leigh S. Singley and her husband, Shannon; and two brothers, Ervin Reed and his wife Pat and Sambo Reed and his wife Jackie, all of Stokley Town; a sister, Letha Thompson and her husband, Donny of Chapel Hill; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Sue Reed.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

MACON Services for Josephine Skipper will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Macon with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Skipper, 88, of Macon, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Elderly Care Center in Macon.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Jernigan and her husband, Henry, of Brooksville; sons, Kimble Skipper and his wife, Jimmye, of Macon and "B" Skipper and his wife, Billie, of Jackson; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Skipper and a son, Eugene Skipper.
Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children.
Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Minister
Services for the Rev. J. Ron McGee will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church with the Revs. Dr. Carl White, Thomas Broadhead and Ennis Hyman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. McGee, 58, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the minister of education at Highland Baptist Church for more than 20 years. He was a graduate of Mobile College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy McGee; daughters, Lisa McGee and Laura McGee; a son, Jimmy McGee, all of Meridian; two grandchildren, Kaylyn Roach and David Roach; his mother, Dorothy McGee of Spartenberg, S.C.; a sister, Judie Temples of Charlotte, N.C.; nieces, Kristi Chan and her husband, David, of Texas and Lori Armistead and her husband, Paul, of Boston; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold McGee and a brother-in-law, Jim Temples.
Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church Bus Fund or Go See Do Club.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Highland Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.

QUITMAN Services for Jimmie Harvey Stewart were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Northrup Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Campbell and Lester Fleming officiating. Burial was in Covington Cemetery in Clarke County. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stewart, 78, of Quitman, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Mae Stewart; a son, Jimmy L. Stewart and a daughter, Lois "Judy" Blackwell, all of Quitman; brother, Earl L. Stewart of Chickasaw, Ala.; a sister, Ruby J. Coburn, of Quitman; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
DEKALB Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for Johnny Barlow of Bastrop, La., who died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Hillview Nursing Home in Bastrop.
