Elaine Pressley, financial service representative at the main branch of Union Planters Bank in Meridian, was called away from her office in the nick of time Wednesday.
At about 11:30 a.m., a customer drove her car through Pressley's office window.
Mac Hodges, president of the bank, said the customer was an elderly woman who was not injured.
Hodges said the bank's windows had recently been tinted as a safety precaution. When the car hit the window, he said, the tint held the glass together.
Because the window is custom made, Hodges said it will not be replaced until Tuesday. In the meantime it will remain boarded up.
