Neely Elizabeth Parker and William Elliott Umphlett were married Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Pinelake Baptist Church in Brandon. The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed by Revs. Chip Henderson and Tom Sykes.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gary O. Parker III of Brandon and Mr. and Mrs. Winwood Brinkley Umphlett of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. G.O. Parker Jr. of Magee and the late Dr. and Mrs. Schubert Bryan Simmons of Newton.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are William Mohead Gray of Grenada and the late Clyde Elizabeth Gray, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Dillard Umphlett of Charleston, S.C.
Nuptial music was provided by Andy Swanner, organist; Eva Hart, pianist; Bob Davidson, trumpeter; Jonathan Lee, violinist; and Rebecca Blissard, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Katie Ormon served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Regina Berry, Meredith Matlock, Jeana Santmyer and Melissa Ward.
Flower girls were Pauline and Mary Carlisle Causey.
Guest book attendant was Hope Reynolds. Program attendants were Tiffany Simmons Lindsay Ball. The bride's proxy was Lauren Laird.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Justin Cobb, Josh Cockrell, Lee Laird, Taylor Parker and Matthew Umphlett. Ushers were Bo Bailey, Adam Davis, Wesley Dowling, Stephen Foley, Kevin Kerley, Reggie Little, Bryce McCarra and Joe Moore.
Ring bearer was Nicholas McCardle.
A reception was held at the Country Club of Jackson following the ceremony. Guests were entertained by Hunter Gibson and the Gators. Reception greeters were Kelli and Ronnie Adcock, Gail and Jim Henderson, and Amy and Jeff Goodwin.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Fairview Inn.
After a honeymoon in Colorado, the couple resides in Flowood.
