    Obituaries for Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001

    ONEAL ALEXANDER
    Federal Civil Service Navy Base employee
    Services for Oneal Alexander were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Strebeck and Elder James Savell officiating. Burial was to be in Providence Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Alexander, 76, of the Duffee community died Sunday Dec. 23, 2001, in his home.
    He was a member of Little Rock Masonic Lodge and Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
    Survivors include his wife, Elsie Alexander, a daughter, Cathy Mitchell, two sons, Danny Alexander and his wife, Amanda, David Alexander and his wife, Dotsie, two brothers, Dale Alexander and Calvin Lynn Alexander, all of the Duffee community; sisters, Helen Pruitt of Collinsville and Betty Skinner of the Duffee community; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Georgia Alexander.
    Pallbearers were Randy Griffin, Justin Shadow, Joshua Sanders, Ben Alexander, Chris Alexander and Joe Alexander.
    DORSIE R. MORTON
    Homemaker
    Services for Dorsie R. Morton will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Randell officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
    Mrs. Morton, 94, of Meridian, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.
    Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Adcock, Betty Adcock, and Elsie Meador and her husband, Henry S., all of Meridian; a brother, Frank Reed of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Morton.
    Pallbearers will be Scott Harwell, Guy Meador, Mel Adcock, Mathew Adcock, Bryan Bogner and Ralph Adcock.
    Visitation will be today noon-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ANNABELLE PEAVEY BOYD
    Homemaker, music teacher
    Graveside services for Annabelle Peavey Boyd will be held today at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Bird officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Boyd, 93, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
    Survivors include two nephews, Hartley Peavey of Meridian and Bob Peavey of Birmingham, Ala.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Boyd and a brother, Mutt Peavey.
    The family requests memorials be made to Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
    Visitation will be today 2 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    JAMES B. ALFORD
    Retired Mississippi Army National Guard
    NEWTON Services for James B. Alford will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Newton with the Revs. Drs. Frank Harmon and Jerry Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Alford, 78, of Newton, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, in his home. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Newton, member of the choir, the Rotary Club and Coffee Club. He was a pilot in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served full-time in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department and the Newton Chamber of Commerce.
    Survivors include his wife, Lucille Alford of Newton; two daughters, Debrah Johnson and her husband, Van, of Atlanta and Kathi Wirth and her husband, Jim, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Michael and Chris Johnson, Cole Nelson, Lindsey and Kelly Wirth; a brother, Bob Alford and his wife, Glenna, of Parkersberg, W.V., and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.V. Alford, and a sister Doris Matthews.
    Pallbearers will be Bill May, Mike Strebeck, Bob Douglas, John Gibson, Michael Ledlow, Joe McMillan, Bryan Burt and Danny Lindsley.
    Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Berean Sunday School Class.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MALRY C. ROLISON
    Self-employed real estate developer
    HATTIESBURG Services for Malry D. "Mal" Rolison will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Petal-Harvey Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal with Moore Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Rolison, 49, of Petal, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Forrest General Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, Brenda M. Rolison, a son, Nate Rolison and a daughter, Kallie Rolison, all of Petal; a sister, Winnie Nace of Hattiesburg.
    The family requests memorials be made to BSU at University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MARGARET WELLS
    Homemaker
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Margaret Wells will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Hight Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Mackie Amaker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Winston County with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Wells, 92, of Louisville, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Winston County Medical Center in Louisville.
    Survivors include three daughters, Beth Clayton and Faith Estes of Noxapater, Ruth Haarala of Mobile, Ala., and Linda Harper of Springfield, Mo.; two sons, Glenn Wells of Philadelphia and Larry Wells of Noxapater; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Wells; and a daughter, Ann Yarbrough.
    Visitation will be today 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
    NORA PICKARD TUCKER
    QUITMAN Services for Nora Pickard Tucker will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery.
    Mrs. Tucker, 85, of Quitman, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Beverly HealthCare-Broadmoor in Meridian.
    Survivors include three sons, James Tucker and his wife, Mary, Harlon Tucker and his wife, Paulette, and Jimmy Tucker and his wife, Neva, a son, Larry Tucker and a daughter, Gerri Laird and her husband, Randy, all of Quitman; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
