    OBITUARIES FOR THURSSDAY, OCT. 4, 2001

    TOMMIE LYNN KIRKLAND
    Secretary for Neshoba Central School
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Tommie Lynn Kirkland will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. James L. Shull officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
    Mrs. Kirkland, 58, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include her husband, Fred Kirkland, and a sister, Bettye Jane DeWeese, both of Philadelphia.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    IMOGENE STILL HUGHES
    Homemaker
    QUITMAN Graveside services for Imogene Still Hughes will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Causeyville Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ernest Allen officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Hughes, 90, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was born Aug. 8, 1911, in Clarke County to Walter E. Still and Mary Tims.
    Survivors include a son, Stanley Hughes and his wife, Glenda, of Meridian; a grandson, Johnny Hughes and his wife, Jennifer, of Quitman; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hughes and Spencer Hughes, both of Quitman; and a special niece, Yvonne Lockridge of Gadsden, Ala.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Hughes.
    Visitation will be today from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    CLAIRE LEE FERRIS
    Retired teacher, merchant
    MACON Services for Claire Lee Ferris will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Raggie Ragsdale and Larry Ferris officiating. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Miss Ferris, 89, of Macon, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Golden Age Care Home.
    Survivors include a stepbrother, Julian Patty of Jackson; two nieces and six nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Brooke and Anne Maude Scales Ferris.
    The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church or United Methodist Senior Services of Mississippi, P.O. Box 2514, Tupelo, MS 38803-2514.
    Visitation will be on Friday from 1p.m. -2 p.m. at the church.
    PEARL TOWNSEND RUSSELL
    Mother, homemaker
    JACKSON Services for Pearl Townsend Russell will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Saints Academy-Holy Hill in Lexington with Elders Fred Wade and Leslie Benson officiating.
    Mrs. Russell, 82, of Lexington, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001.
    She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Kyles, Dorothy Hatcher and Earnestine Russell, all of Jackson, and Clara Godine of Meridian; two sons, Roy Russell of Jackson and Deval Russell of Panama City, Fla.; one sister, Irabell Williams, a brother, Willie D. Townsend, and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Russell, and two children, Tommy Russell Jr. and Sally Pearl Russell.
    REV. EDWIN LOUIS KELLY III
    Assistant pastor spiritual ministry with Pleasant Valley Church
    THOMASTON, Ga. Services for the Rev. Edwin Louis "Ed" Kelly III will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church, with the Rev. Henry Wright officiating. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Rev. Kelly, 58, of Thomaston, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Upson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Natchitoches, La., in 1943 and retired from the State of Louisiana Division of Administration in 1999. He was currently serving as Assistant Pastor of Pleasant Valley Church, an international ministry offering ministry and training programs for the prevention and healing of diseases of the spirit and soul as well as the body.
    Survivors include his wife, Dianne C. Kelly of Thomaston; his father, E.L. Kelly, his mother, Claire Kelly, a sister and brother-in-law, Ginger K. Jones and Lewis Jones, all of Shreveport, La.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Levin Culpepper and Eleanor Culpepper, and a brother-in-law, Levin Culpepper Jr., all of Meridian; three nieces, Kelly Jones of Albuquerque, N.M., and Stacy Jones and Leigh Anne Jones, both of Shreveport; and two nephews, Nathan Culpepper and Matt Culpepper, both of Meridian.
    The family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Valley Church, 4178 Highway 74 West, Thomaston, GA 30286.
    Visitation will be today from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    DALE LAMBERT
    LAUREL Services for Dale Lambert will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Allen Little officiating. Burial will be in Lake Park Cemetery, with Memory Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Lambert, 70, of Laurel, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in his home. He was retired from the Laurel Leader-Call as a linotype machinist. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lambert was reared in Kansas and was a charter member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Laurel. He was a member of the American Legion.
    Survivors include his wife, Virginia Little Lambert of Laurel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Lambert Berry and Sonny Berry and Theresa Lambert Ellzey and Tim Ellzey, all of Covington, La.; five grandchildren, Jessica Berry, Jonathan Berry, Allison Ellzey, Stephanie Ellzey and Caroline Ellzey; two brothers, Dave Lambert of Pensacola, Fla., and Gregory Allan Hetzel of Idaho; a sister, Betty Greb of Wichita, Kan.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Pallbearers will be Wayne Traylor, Al Moore, Joe Wright, Phil Buehler, Leo Norwook, Jimmy McCraw, Victor Jones Jr. and Homer Bradley.
    Honorary pallbearers will be past and present officers of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
    The family requests memorials be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or to a favorite charity.
    Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Eugene "Sonny" Kennedy of Enterprise, who died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in New York.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Allied Rush of Meridian, who died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in his home.
