JOHNIE MURRAY
HATTIESBURG Services for Johnie Murray will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
Mrs. Murray, 81, of Hattiesburg, formerly of Gulfport, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Hattiesburg Convalescent Center.
A native of Meridian, she retired as a secretary from the public school systems. She was Episcopalian.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Hales of New York and Janis Franks of Hattiesburg; a sister, Juanita Stroble of Meridian; and two granddaughters, Kelly Franks and Allison Franks, both of Hattiesburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Murray.
Pallbearers will be Stan Levine, Dwane Franks, Don Franks, Brannan Jorns, Mike Welch and J.E. Davis.
MARY ALICE DAVIDSON SHIRLEY

Services for Mary Alice Davidson Shirley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Paul LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Causeyville.
Mrs. Shirley, 81, of Meridian, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. Mrs. Shirley was a member of Meridian's First Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her son, K.R. Shirley and his wife, Hazel, of Quitman; two daughters, Kaye F. Stephens and her husband, Jerry, and Mary Cooper and her husband, Billy, all of Quitman; four sisters, Gladys Robinson, Bertie M. LaBeff, Jewel Thompson and her husband, Edsel, and Bonnie Beddingfield, all of Meridian; one brother, Gene Davidson, and his wife, Jemi, of Meridian; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed Shirley; her mother, Nancy Bertie Davidson; her father, William Nolan Davidson; two sons, William "Bill" Shirley and Roger Shirley; two sisters, Margaret Risher and Louise Fuller; and a brother, Roger Davidson.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ford, William Shirley Jr., Ben Shirley, Dan Shirley, Todd Davidson and Tommy Davidson. Honorary pallbearer will be J.C. McElroy.
JACK LUNDY
PHILADELPHIA Services for Jack Lundy will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Mr. Lundy, 82, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Philadelphia.
Survivors include a sister, Mae L. Copeland of Philadelphia.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
RUBY JONES BRYAN
DEKALB Services for Ruby Jones Bryan will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Center Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bryan, 101, of DeKalb, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
The daughter of Walter William Jones and Olive Newton Secrest Jones, Mrs. Bryan was born Sept. 15, 1899, in the Vimville community in Lauderdale County but moved to the Kipling community in Kemper County at the age of 3 months.
At the age of 16, she moved to Sumter County, Ala., where she met Oscar Jennings Bryan, whom she married Dec. 5, 1920. The couple made their home in the Giles community in Kemper County, where they raised five children.
Mrs. Bryan lived in Giles until 1992, when she left to live with her daughter in Leland. She had only recently returned to Kemper County to live.
Survivors include two sons, Walter Robert Bryan of Atlanta and Charles Edward Bryan of West Point; a daughter, Evelyn Bryan McRaven of DeKalb; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar J. Bryan Sr.; and two sons, Oscar J. Bryan Jr. and James Louis Bryan.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
R.L. LUNDY
Retired body shop worker
UNION  Services for R.L. Lundy will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Raymond Biard and William Henry Grant officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Lundy, 80, of Union, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson.
Survivors include Willie Mae Lundy of Union; a daughter, Dorothy Mae Biard of Jackson; a son, Larry Lundy of Jackson; two sisters, Hattie Mae Pullen of Philadelphia and Annie L. Smith of Jackson; a brother, C.A. Lundy of Clinton; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jean Lundy Grant.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
SHIRLEY WOLVERTON

CARTHAGE Services for Shirley Wolverton will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Carthage, with the Rev. Matt DeBord officiating. Private graveside services will be held at Carthage Memorial Gardens for family members only. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wolverton, 64, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at University Medical Center.
Mrs. Wolverton was a native of Hickory. She had been a member of Carthage First Baptist Church for 44 years. Shirley's passion was her family. Her life revolved around her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, not only for her family, but for friends as well. She was a noted cook and had recipes that were published in "Southern Living" and area papers. When not in the kitchen, she could be found tending her flower gardens and large lawn. She loved growing flowers, but her greatest joy was her roses.
Another area that consumed Shirley and her family's time was their vacations. She enjoyed seeing her family relaxing and spending time together. Karen, her daughter, said that one of the things she would miss most would be going to the beach with her mother.
Survivors include her husband, Jack K. Wolverton; a son, Kim K. Wolverton of Baton Rouge, La.; a daughter, Karen Tutor and her husband, Ben, of Jackson; her mother, Margie Williams of Hickory; a brother, Jack W. Williams of Meridian; and her grandchildren, Kristen, Kari Anna, Klare and Kaleb Tutor, all of Jackson.
The family requests memorials be made to the Mississippi Donor Program, UMC, 2500 North State St., Jackson, MS 39216, or First Baptist Church, 402 North Van Buren St., Carthage, MS 39051.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
