Change MHS polling place

Poll workers and voters who suffer through the sweat and noise at the Meridian High School gym on election day deserve a better deal. The polling place has no drinking water or air conditioning, which makes for a long, long day. Workers even have to bring in a telephone.
The gym is also used for guess what basketball practices and tryouts. The noise of kids at play and coaches at work is not conducive to the business of election day.
We suggest the polling place be relocated to where it once was the reception area in the front of the MHS auditorium, which is just a stone's throw from the gym. All of the appropriate services are available there, it is accessible to handicapped voters and seems to meet all other requirements for service as a polling place.
This would be a welcome change.
