10-year-old critical after accident

A 10-year-old Meridian youth was listed in critical condition Saturday at University Medical Center in Jackson, where he was taken after an accident Friday afternoon.
Police said the child, Anthony Ivy, was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Royal Road and 46th Avenue in Meridian when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle driven by Milton Sampson, 65, of Meridian.
No charges have been filed and the Meridian Police Department's Advanced Accident Investigation Team is investigating, according to Lt. Wade Johnson, the department's public information officer.
