SAMMIE MONROE
Retired dietitian for the Baptist Hospital in Jackson
Services for Sammie Monroe will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Bethlehem Methodist Church in DeKalb with Elder Henry Rush officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Monroe, 64, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Monroe of Jackson; three sons, Samuel Monroe and his wife, Marcia, Joseph Monroe and Algon Monroe, all of Jackson; two brothers, Roosevelt Monroe and his wife, Addie, and Willie Monroe, and his wife, Mary, all of DeKalb; three sisters, Curlie Mae Tisdale of Chicago, and Maggie Boyd and Emma Monroe, both of DeKalb; and 11 grandchildren.

NEWTON Services for Mary Ardell Myers will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Stanley Henriques and J.B. Costilow officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Myers, 84, of Morton, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon. She was a native of Neshoba County, a former resident of Newton and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mae Dell Boutwell and her husband, Stanley, of Newton, and Mary Ann Henriques and her husband, Stanley "Rocky," of Jackson; a son, Prentiss Myers and his wife, Kathy, of Newton; two sisters, Geneva Campbell of Council Bluff, Iowa, and Arlie Dee Hodge of Carthage; a brother, Vester Winstead of Neshoba; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Myers.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Daniel Winstead, Bobby Winstead, Hugh Winstead, Richard Johnson, Lee Winstead, David Winstead and Paul Winstead. Honorary pallbearers include Marshall Winstead, Larry Winstead and Gerald Wayne Winstead.

DEKALB Services for Eppie L. Barney will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Green Hill Baptist Church in Toomsuba with the Rev. E.E. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barney, 82, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Toomsuba, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, in Cleveland.
Survivors include a sister, Lillian B. Davis of Toomsuba; a daughter, Joann Williams and her husband, Olice, of Toomsuba; six sons, James Barney and his wife, Arelia of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Richard Barney of Beachwood, Ohio, Eppie Barney and his wife, Sharon, of Newnan, Ga., Aderion Barney of Dallas, Marvin Barney of Akron, Ohio, and Melvin Barney of Richmond Heights, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and four children.
Visitation will be Monday from noon until 1 p.m. at the church.

Services for H.C. Poynter will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Final arrangements were incomplete.
