Second Chance Canine Advocates plan fundraisers
RUSSELLVILLE Second Chance Canine Advocates held its monthly meeting Oct. 18 at the Ralph C. Bishop Community Center.
For the educational segment, Susan Simmons gave a presentation on different types of collars, harnesses and leashes and explained how to ensure a proper fit. She also discussed ways to safely secure dogs in vehicles.
Members said the information will be helpful for both personal pets and foster dogs. With October being National Animal Safety and Protection Month, the topic proved especially timely.
Kyra Scott shared information about the organization’s mission and ways the public can get involved, including fostering, transporting, donating, fundraising, and assisting other fosters.
The group discussed upcoming fundraisers, including efforts to seek corporate sponsors. Trading Post Discount Drugs in Tuscumbia was announced as the organization’s first corporate sponsor.
