Flavil Wayne McCaig, 82, of Russellville, passed away Sept. 12 at his residence. He was born March 3, 1943, to Austin and Sula Lee McCaig. A private graveside service was held Sept. 15 at Franklin Memory Gardens
He is survived by his son, Douglas (Tracy) McCaig; daughter, Patricia Smith; grandchildren, Patrick Gargis, Brenley Gargis (Dylan), Katie Dean (Allen), Kendal McCaig; great grandchildren, Lyllianna Maxwell, MaKenzi Maxwell, Camden Maxwell; brother, Gary McCaig (Virginia); and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McCaig; parents Austin and Sula Lee McCaig; brothers, Jerry McCaig, Hollis McCaig, Chester McCaig; sister, Elowise Blankenship; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice and all who helped with all of the wonderful care given during such a difficult time.

Martha Malone Roden, 78, of Russellville, passed away Sept. 11. A memorial service was held Sept. 16 from 1-2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel.

Anna “Susan” Tittle, 63 of Phil Campbell, passed away Sept. 10. Visitation was held at Pinkard Funeral Home on Sept. 13 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The funeral service immediately followed. Burial was in Edgar Chapel Cemetery in Phil Campbell.

Patricia “Patsy” Ann Black, 70, of Russellville, passed away on Sept. 7. Visitation was held at Spry Memorial Chapel on Sept. 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A graveside service followed at 4 p.m. in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Timothy Ken Boyles

Timothy Ken Boyles, 61, of Russellville, passed away Sept. 1 after a long, tough battle with small cell carcinoma lung cancer. He was born on Dec.12, 1963, in Russellville, Ala., to his parents, Qualand and Joyce Boyles.
He is a graduate of Russellville High School and a member of the Class of 1982. Ken was a member of Duncan Creek Baptist Church, a Mason of Russellville Lodge #361, and a member of the Belgreen Bass Club.
Ken spent most of his time fishing at Cedar Creek Lake with his group of closest friends, watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football, spending time with his family, enjoying times spent with friends at the lake, and being with a special little girl that gave him such great joy, his favorite fishing buddy, his granddaughter, Jailee.
Visitation was Sept. 6 at Akins Funeral Home in Russellville from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service took place directly after and a graveside service followed at Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jeff Woodard, Kenny Tyra, Tim Fretwell, Jeff Fretwell, Joel Bohannon, Roger Allen, Kirk Boyles, Tyler Newton, Darrin Lewey, and JR Hovater. Honorary pallbearers included David Kennedy, Jimmy Manning, Larry Montgomery, Mike Franks, Milton Boyd, John Darty, Scotty Hovater and Sam Cantrell.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 42 years, Rhonda Boyles; their children, Justin (Whitney) Boyles and Keslie (John) Garrett; his siblings Kirk (Kathy) Boyles and Kim Boyles; one granddaughter, Jailee Garrett, who had him wrapped around her finger. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends whom he loved more than words can express!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Qualand and Joyce Boyles; grandparents, Hansel and Evie Boyles and Herbert and Nellie Mae Mansell.
The family wants to say a special Thank You to Dr. Lauren Byers of MD Anderson, one of his MICU nurses Cheneal at Emory University Hospital, and all the other hospital staff who have cared for Ken during his illness at MD Anderson, NAMC, and Emory University Hospital.
