Colbert Heights tourney begins volleyball season

Franklin County volleyball teams started off the year competing in a tournament at Colbert Heights.

Belgreen and Red Bay advanced to tournament play going 2-2 in tournament games. Belgreen beat Hamilton

2-1 (25-22; 21-25; and 15-8) and Phil Campbell 2-0 (25–13; 25-15) and lost to Mars Hill 2-1 (20-25; 28-26; 5-15) and Colbert Heights 2-1 (25–

23; 12-25; 10-15).

Bryn Scott had 42 digs as she approaches the 1,000dig mark.

Alayna Tate had

18 assists and 20 digs. Lilliana Willingham had 16 kills and 13 digs. Carson Hovater had 14 kills and

10 digs. Randi Terry added

9 kills.

Red Bay beat Tharptown

2-0 (27-25; 25-21) and Cherokee 2-0 (27-25; 25-20), but lost to Colbert Heights

2-0 (20-25; 19-25) and Mars Hill 2-0 (14-25; 14-25).

Tharptown lost to Colbert Heights 2-0 (26-28;

12-25) and beat Cherokee

2-0 (25-15; 25-16).

Phil Campbell lost to Hamilton 2-1 (15-25; 26-15;

5-15) and Mars Hill 2-0 (18–

25; 11-25).
