Russellville man faces drug trafficking charges

RUSSELLVILLE — A Russellville man is being held in the Franklin County Jail facing multiple drug charges after members of the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant on Thursday at his Christy Lane residence.

Sheriff’s deputies and investigators found and seized cocaine and approximately 5.6 ounces of crystal methamphetamines and liquid meth while executing the search warrant.

Sgt. Kyle Palmer said “a several-month investigation” led to securing the search warrant.

The meth was found inside of a vehicle in a shop, Palmer said.

Jose Luis Torres-Solano, 29, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking (meth).

Torres-Salano pleaded guilty on Nov. 6, 2024, to unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and was given a 97-month suspended sentence, according to court records.

A motion has been filed by the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office to enforce the sentence following Torres-Salano’s arrest on Thursday.

He also faces three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, three counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count each of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, certain persons prohibited from carrying a firearm, and probation violation.

Torres-Salano is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to jail records.
