NWSCC hosts county math tournament

PHIL CAMPBELL — Franklin County teams made up of students from grades seven through 12 recently competed in a county math tournament at Northwest Shoals Community College in Phil Campbell.

The winners were: Pre-Calculus

First Place — Mitchell Kennedy of Red Bay Second Place Easton Hutcheson of Phil Campbell Third Place — Darby Blansett of Red Bay Overall Team Winner –Red Bay Algebra II

First Place — DeRilee Colburn of Red Bay Second Place MacKinley Hogan of Belgreen Third Place — Carson Hovater of Belgreen Overall Team Winner — Belgreen/Red Bay Algebra I

First Place — Isaac Duboise of Phil Campbell Second Place — Kayla Strickland of Red Bay Third Place — Levi Miller of Red Bay Overall team winner — Phil Campbell Geometry

First Place — Logan Motes of Phil Campbell Second Place — Emily Walker of East Franklin Third Place — Brayden Messer of Belgreen Overall Team Winner — Phil Campbell Eighth Grade First Place — Jaci Valdez of Phil Campbell Second Place Mason Holifeil of Phil Campbell Third Place — Ellie Pounders of Belgreen Overall Team Winner — Phil Campbell Seventh Grade
