High-powered offense gets Bobcats 3 wins

The Phil Campbell Bobcats baseball team showcased an explosive offensive display this week, securing three decisive victories before falling to Red Bay. The Bobcats’ bats were on fire, resulting in highscoring wins over East Lawrence, Tharptown and Belmont.

Against East Lawrence, Phil Campbell unleashed a barrage of 17 runs on 18 hits. Hagen Raper, Koltin Hester, and Trace Duboise each contributed two doubles, while Chandler Benford and Shooter Motes added one apiece. Cale Faust ignited the offense with a three-run home run in the first inning, setting the tone for the Bobcats’ dominant performance.

The Bobcats’ offense reached new heights in their matchup against Tharptown, where they scored an astonishing 29 runs on 13 hits, capitalizing on 18 walks issued by Tharptown. Benford tripled, and Raper and Motes each doubled. Motes and Benford both drove in four runs.

Chol Welborn delivered a stellar performance on the mound, allowing just one run on two hits and striking out six.

Phil Campbell continued its winning streak with a 10-0 victory over Belmont. Bentley Hill led the offense with two doubles and two RBIs, while Faust and Hester each contributed a double and two RBI. Hester also earned the win on the mound, allowing only four hits and striking out four.

However, the Bobcats’ winning streak was halted by a 6-4 loss to Red Bay.
